TripleSafe Protects Moody, ME Basement From Flooding
Challenge
A couple in Moody, ME had been living with a basement that would regularly take on water. Without a way to escape, the water would pool up on the floor, and this was something that could easily lead to problems for the homeowners. Seeking a way to remove the water, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done.
Solution
To deal with the water leaking into the basement, our crew installed a TripleSafe sump pump in the natural low-point of the floor. The TripleSafe contains three separate pumps. The primary pump handles the majority of the water, pumping it up and out of the home through the PVC discharge line. The secondary pump handles the same water as the primary, but only if the primary pumps fails for any reason. This will keep the basement water-free until the primary pump is repaired. The third pump is a battery backup pump which will switch on in the event of a power outage. The TripleSafe pump will keep this basement dry in any conditions!
Following the discharge line outside, we had a few additions to make to keep things running smoothly. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe piece attached just outside the home. The IceGuard has built-in holes that do not affect normal outward water flow. But if the line becomes clogged by ice or other debris, the holes allow the water to escape before it reaches the sump to overflow it. Finally, the line was ended with a LawnScape discharge point. The water exits here, a safe distance from the home where it will never bother these homeowners again.
With a new sump in place, and measures taken to keep the sump operating without interference, this basement is now safe from flooding! This couple can now use their basement without the fear of standing water causing long-term damage to the space.
