WaterGuard Protects Madawaska, ME Basement
Challenge
No homeowner wants a wet basement. For this homeowner in Madawaska, ME, that was sadly the case. Not able to prevent the problem on their own, they contacted the professionals. After we got the call, TC Hafford Basement Systems were on the job!
Solution
Once we arrived at the home, we identified the cause of the problem. The water was entering the basement directly through the foundation. This was a major problem for the homeowner because they had no way of preventing this. In order to protect the basement from this water, we dug a trench in the floor around the basement. This allowed us to set our WaterGuard piping just beneath the surface of the basement floor, surrounding the area. The pipes were covered with a fresh layer of cement to conceal them. These pipes are designed to take in the moisture from the concrete, and guide it to the sump before it reaches the surface.
Next, we needed to remove the water from the basement. The WaterGuard captures the water, and then transports it to the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This device can output 2,650 gallons of water per hour, out through the PVC discharge line. This will be more than enough power to keep a typical rain storm at bay!
Now this homeowner has a dry basement and a system in place to keep it that way! With the WaterGuard & SuperSump working in tandem, there is almost nothing that can overpower them.
