Lincoln, ME Basement Sealed
Challenge
Living with a wet basement will eventually upset any homeowner. Tired of the condition of their basement, this Lincoln, ME homeowner was fed up. They contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems and we were on the job!
Solution
The water within this basement was finding its way inside during rain. The water content in the soil would build up pressure, forcing moisture through the smallest cracks and/or holes in the foundation. To stop this, we dug out a trench around the inside perimeter of the basement floor, laying our WaterGuard piping just under the surface. After burying the WaterGuard with fresh cement, it can get to work. These special pipes take in the moisture from the foundation, and guided it away to the sump for removal.
This basement had a door leading up and out the side of the home. To capture any water trying to leak in under the door, we added a TrenchDrain segment onto the WaterGuard running under the door. This is a grate that is level with the surface of the floor. Any water flowing under the door will fall into this grate, thus being captured by the WaterGuard. To remove the water, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump can move up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour. This will be more than enough power to maintain a dry floor for this homeowner.
With their new basement system in place, this Lincoln, ME homeowner can now be proud of their dry basement.
