Lebanon, ME Homeowner Shields Their Basement With a WaterGuard
Challenge
Plagued by a wet basement, Andrew of Lebanon, ME needed a long-lasting solution. He spoke with TC Hafford Basement Systems and knew we were the right choice!
Solution
After identifying the main cause of the moisture build up, our crew was able to best determine what course of action would keep this basement dry. They began by digging out a small trench around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This was then filled with our special WaterGuard piping system. After covering the new piping with a fresh layer of cement, it will begin working. The WaterGuard captures moisture as it travels through the foundation floor. This prevents the water from accumulating on the surface and causing any problems in the first place.
The water captured by the WaterGuard is passed on to the SuperSump sump pump we installed in the basement. Boasting a pump rate of 2,650 gallons of water per hour, the SuperSump will remove any and all water given to it. The water is evacuated through a PVC discharge line, releasing the water a safe distance from the home. To keep the pump operating in unfavorable conditions, we attached an UltraSump backup battery. This will allow the pump to keep pumping, if and when the home loses power.
Now Andrew’s basement is moisture free! A properly waterproofed basement is a happy basement.
