TripleSafe keeps Sanford, ME basement water free
Challenge
A homeowner in Sanford was struggling to keep her basement dry. She tried just about everything, and needed outside help. After we got the call, TC Hafford Basement Systems was on the job!
Solution
The main issue within this particular basement was that moisture was able to leak in directly through the foundation. This posed a problem, because typically, the moisture would need to reach the surface of the floor before it could be removed. This is why we installed our special WaterGuard piping underneath the floor. These pipes capture the moisture as it travels through the concrete, never allowing it to reach the surface. This water is collected and guided to the sump for removal.
The sump received a TripleSafe sump pump upgrade! This pump can handle almost any amount of water! Composed of three pumps, the TripleSafe will keep on pumping under any conditions. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water, forcing it out through a PVC discharge line. The secondary pump kicks in if the primary needs help or fails for any reason. The third pump is the battery-backup pump, which will activate when the power in the home goes out. The TripleSafe sump pump will be sure to keep this basement water free!
Finally, to complete the project, two additions needed to be made to the discharge line outside the home. Once the pipe exits the basement, we attached an IceGuade pipe piece. This special piece is built with holes which don’t normally affect the water flow. The holes come into play if a blockage appears in the pipe; Then the water can escape without backing up the TripleSafe. The line was capped off with a LawnScape discharge point and we were done. The LawnScape is where the water is let out onto the ground, a safe distance from the home.
Now this Sanford homeowner can take it easy during any heavy rain storms. Their brand-new basement system will handle all their water troubles from now on!
