WaterGuard saves Westbrook, ME basement from permanent damage
Challenge
Fighting a wet basement was getting tiring for Rick in Westbrook. He needed professional help before serious water damage happened, so he called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
To stop the water, we needed to first identify the problem. After an inspection, we found the water was entering in through the foundation itself. This is why we installed 135 feet of our WaterGuard piping around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. The pipes are buried in a trench with fresh cement. This conceals it while still allowing function. The WaterGuard will capture water slipping through the foundation, and transport it to the sump for evacuation.
Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump to remove the collected water. This pump can move 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of the home through the PVC discharge line. No ordinary storm will be able to overwhelm this sump! To help maintain a steady flow of water, we installed an IceGuard pipe section to the exterior of the home. This section is attached to the discharge line already coming from the home. It is made with special holes to allow water out of the pipe in the event of a blockage lower in the line such as ice. This prevents the pump from overflowing. The line was capped off with a LawnScape discharge point, and we were finished!
Now Rick can rest assured his belonging will remain dry! His new basement system will keep him water free for years to come!
