Saco, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
Stephen of Saco was tired of living with a damp basement. Not just because of the smell, but the fear of water damage gave no use to the space. Seeking a way to put an end to the moisture, Stephen called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
To help Stephen, we needed to identify where the moisture was coming in through. Once we found the moisture was coming in through the foundation itself because of hydrostatic pressure, we got started with the fix! We laid our special WaterGuard piping around the inside perimeter of the basement floor, buried just under the surface with a fresh coat of cement. These new pipes will capture the moisture in the floor, guiding it away, before it reaches the surface.
To eject the collected water from the WaterGuard, we needed to install a pump. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump to do just that. Being able to move 2,650 gallons of water per hour, we knew this would handle any amount of rain trying to flood this basement. To guarantee this pump functions even in the hardest of storms, we attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump. This battery will give the SuperSump a lifespan of 11,000 gallons of water pumped before running out of charge. With this, not even a power outage will stop these systems.
Now Stephen can utilize his basement to the fullest without needing to feat water damage!
