Brunswick, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
Rainwater would regularly find its way into this homeowner’s basement. Not having a way to combat this on their own, the homeowner sought professional help. They called TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done, and we did just that!
Solution
The rainwater would leak in directly through the foundation. This kind of leak made it impossible for this homeowner to handle this alone, calling TC Hafford Basement Systems was the right move. We installed our signature method of stopping this kind of leak, WaterGuard piping. These pipes are installed just under the surface of the basement floor, around the perimeter. Buried under fresh cement for conceal them, the pipes act within the concrete itself. Any moisture traveling through the foundation is caught in the WaterGuard before reaching the surface, being guided to the sump for evacuation.
To assist with the water removal, the sump needed a pump. We installed a SuperSump sump pump in the basement, along with an UltraSump backup battery attachment. These two devices working together can pump 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of the home, and up to 11,000 gallons of water without electricity! That will be more than enough to keep a little rainwater at bay. We finished this project by installing a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. While the WaterGuard captures the water coming through the foundation, the SaniDry takes the moisture out of the air. The SaniDry also passes the collected water to the sump for removal.
With this new basement system in place, this homeowner in Brunswick will never need to worry about a damp basement again! He is now the proud owner of a dry, healthy basement.
