Rochester, NH - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
A wet basement ailed this homeowner in Rochester, NH. Tired of the dampness and musty smell, this homeowner finally decided to have something done about it!
Solution
After receiving the call, TC Hafford Basement Systems was on the job! We identified the main cause of the moisture problem, which was rainwater leaking in through the foundation itself. To stop this from happening in the future, we buried 64 feet of our WaterGaurd piping around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This piping will capture any water leaking through the foundation. The captured water is then passed on to the sump for removal.
Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump is strong enough to force 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of the home through a PVC discharge line. This is more than enough to keep a typical rain storm at bay. Following the discharge line outside, we attached an IceGuard piece to the line just outside the home. This special pipe piece will allow water to escape through holes in the sides in the event of a blockage lower in the line. This line was then capped off with a LawnScape discharge point, where water is released onto the ground a safe distance from the home.
Now this homeowner can enjoy her basement without a musty smell! Thanks to her new WaterGuard piping system, a wet basement is a problem of the past!
