Waterguard & SaniDry Installation in Sorrento, ME Basement

Challenge

Looking to finish her basement, this Sorrento, ME homeowner needed a way to keep water out! Rain water would sometimes leak into the basement through the foundation, and before any progress could be made, the space needed waterproofing.

Solution

To keep a dry floor, we needed to stop the water before it reaches the surface. To achieve this, we installed a WaterGuard piping system around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This is buried under new concrete to conceal it. These special pipes capture the water as it transitions through the concrete. This water is then passed on to the sump for removal. Now none of the rain water in the surrounding soil will be able to reach the surface of the basement floor!

We then installed a SmartDrain in the floor to drain the water out to a safe distance from the home. This will deposit the water into the soil far enough from the home where it won’t leak back in through the foundation. Finally, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier to help maintain a dry atmosphere. This machine pulls in the surrounding air, removes the moisture, and releases dry air back into the basement. The water taken out is handed to the SmartDrain for removal.

Now this homeowner can finish their basement without fear of water damage! The WaterGuard will keep the floor dry, while the SaniDry will maintain a dry, healthy atmosphere for the homeowner!
