WaterGuard & SuperSump Repair Basement Flood in Brownfield, ME
Challenge
No homeowner wants to have a basement that floods. Sadly, for this homeowner in Brownfield, their basement would flood regularly. Seeking a solution, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems!
The problem with this basement was that water could easily enter through the concrete when the pressure in the surrounding soil became great enough. Needing a way to trap the water within the concrete.
Solution
We embedded 79 feet of our WaterGuard pipes within the floor of the basement. This encircled the floor, running along the perimeter of the space. These pipes are designed in a way which allows them to take in the water traversing the foundation, collecting it all before it reaches the surface. The water is then safely guided away to the sump.
Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump along with an UltraSump backup battery attachment. This combination will ensure the water is removed from the basement in any weather! The SuperSump can push 2,650 gallons of water per hour through the PVC discharge line. Even if the power goes out in the home, the UltraSump battery will keep the SuperSump running for up to 11,000 more gallons of water removal. This, coupled with the IceGuard pipe attached on the exterior of the home to the discharge line will keep water draining smoothly. The IceGuard prevents water backups and overflows with holes to allow the water to escape in the event of a blockage.
Now with a new WaterGuard and sump system in place, this homeowner’s days of owning a flooding basement are over!
