SuperSump Pump & WaterGuard Drainage Installed in Sebago, ME Basement
Challenge
A homeowner in Sebago, ME had been living with water seeping in through the foundation of their home. They had enough! To remedy the situation, they contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
The water leaking in through the foundation would be found pooling up on the basement floor. This was unacceptable for the homeowner, and we had just the way to stop it! We needed to lay down our special WaterGuard piping. These pipes are buried underneath the floor, under fresh cement around the perimeter. The WaterGuard will capture any water leaking in through the concrete, guiding it toward the sump before it is ever able to reach the surface. We then installed BrightWall tiling across the walls of the basement. These hard-plastic tiles collect any moisture coming through the walls, guiding this water down to the WaterGuard pipes.
The sump within the basement was in desperate need of a pump. This is why we installed a SuperSump sump pump, which will take in the water from the WaterGuard and eject it from the basement through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump will be more than enough to keep this rainwater out, being able to pump 2,650 gallons of water an hour! Following the discharge line outside, we attached an IceGuard just as the pipe leaves the home. This is a special pipe with built-in holes. These holes don’t affect the normal water flow, but in the event of a blockage, the water is allowed to escape without overflowing the pump. Finally, we capped the line with a LawnScape discharge point. This is where the water exits into the ground, a safe distance from the home.
Now this homeowner can sit peacefully through a heavy rain storm without need to worry potential basement flooding. Thanks to WaterGuard, their water problems are gone for good!
