Challenge
Living with a wet basement was a nightmare for Dara in Bethel. Being fed up with these conditions, they contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to dry their basement!
Solution
The water was entering the basement through the foundation, this is not an easy problem to solve for any homeowner, but TC Hafford has just the fix! We buried our WaterGuard piping underneath the floor to capture the water as it traveled through. This prevents the water from reaching the surface of the floor. We then installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier to take the moisture out of the air. These two systems will remove the moisture from both the floor and the air, passing this water to the sump for evacuation.
Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. The SuperSump is capable of removing 2,650 gallons of water per hour from the basement. This should be more than enough power to maintain a dry basement floor. The water is moved out of the basement through a PVC discharge line, which received some improvements outside the home. The first of these was an IceGuard pipe piece, which is built with special holes to allow water to escape the pipe if it becomes blocked by ice or debris. Finally, we attached a LawnScape discharge point to the end of the pipe, this is where the water is released a safe distance from the home.
Now Dara can live with a dry basement, with not need to fear water damage in the future!
