Holden, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
No homeowner wants a flooding basement, but for this couple in Holden, that was a reality. Their basement would gather water during rain, and after dealing with it for several months, they finally decided to have something done about it!
Solution
In order to stop the rain water from finding its way inside the basement, we needed to capture it within the concrete it was traveling through. To achieve this, we installed WaterGuard piping around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. These pipes are buried underneath the concrete, where they take in the water as it travels through. This water is then guided away, never to reach the surface of the floor.
We then installed a SuperSump sump pump within the basement floor to take the water from the WaterGuard. This pump can move up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour through the PVC discharge line. Following this line outside, as soon as it exits the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe piece. This section of pipe has built in holes which will allow the water to escape, should the lower end become blocked by ice or other debris.
Now this couple can live with peace of mind that their basement will remain dry even in the heaviest of rains.
