Sanbornville, NH - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
A wet basement ailed Edward for months until he had had enough! He contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to finally get his problem resolved.
Solution
The problem in Ed’s basement was that rain water was leaking in from the soil through the concrete foundation. This happens when the pressure of water built up in the soil is high enough to force water through the smallest cracks or holes in the floor. When such an issue occurs, TC Hafford has just the solution, WaterGuard piping. We installed the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement floor. This rests under the surface of the concrete, and captures the moisture before it has a chance to reach the surface, thus maintaining a dry basement floor!
Now this captured water needed a place to go. We installed a SuperSump sump pump within the basement to take care of this. The captured water is guided through the piping to the SuperSump, where is it forced up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. This line received a special attachment on the exterior of the home, known as an IceGuard. The IceGuard is constructed with holes, to allow water to escape the discharge line, in the event that a blockage occurs lower in the pipe. The line was capped off with a LawnScape discharge point, where all the water is let out into the soil a safe distance from the home.
Now Edward has a properly waterproofed basement, and won’t be botheres by moisture accumulation again!
