Winterport, ME - WaterGuard & TripleSafe Installtion
Challenge
A flooding basement is a nightmare of any homeowner, but for this couple in Winterport, ME, that nightmare was real. They quickly did something to remedy the situation.
Solution
After getting the call, we had to prevent water from coming in directly through the foundation. To do this, we laid 116 feet of our WaterGuard piping around the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This was buried under the floor to conceal it without hindering functionality. The WaterGuard is able to soak up the water within the concrete, guiding it safely away without it ever reaching the surface.
To remove the water from the basement, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This device contains three pumps, a primary pump for the bulk of the water, a secondary for if the primary fails, and a battery backup pump in case of a power outage. The water is evacuated through a PVC discharge line. We then covered the walls with BrightWall Tiles. These will collect any moisture from the walls and drop it into the WaterGuard for removal.
Then, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard filter to the discharge line. This filter is made with holes built into it. These holes allow the water to easily escape the pipe should the lower end become blocked by ice or other such debris. We then finished the project by adding a LawnScape piece to the end of the pipe. This is where the water finally exits into the soil, a safe distance from the home.
Now this couple can live without fear of a flooding basement in the future, thanks to WaterGuard!
