Casco, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
Rain water would regularly plague the basement of this Casco, ME home. Until the homeowners finally did something about it!
Solution
The rain water would enter through the foundation itself, thus the solution needed to be implanted into the concrete. We dug a small trench around the perimeter of the basement, and laid 86 feet of our WaterGuard piping encircling the floor. It was then covered with more concrete to conceal it beneath the surface. The WaterGuard pipes will take in the moisture as it leaks into the concrete from the surrounding soil. No more moisture will be appearing on this basement floor!
The captured water is transported to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump is capable of pumping 2,650 gallons of water per hour out through the PVC discharge line. No average storm will ever be able to overwhelm this pump. Next, on the exterior of the home, we attached an Iceguard filter. This is a special pipe with holes to allow trapped water to escape. Finally, we installed the LawnScape discharge point on the end of the line. This is where the water is deposited back into the soil a safe distance from the home.
With these systems in place and working together, this homeowner will now be living comfortably with a dry basement!
