Springvale, ME - TripleSafe & IceGuard Installation
Challenge
A flooding basement is a troublesome problem for a homeowner to deal with. After manually pumping the water out for so long, Ray was fed up. He contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems and did something about it!
Solution
In order to stop the basement from flooding, we needed to remove the water. To do so, the sump needed to receive a pump upgrade. This is why we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps that each serve their own purpose. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water, while the secondary handles the water in the event of a malfunction with the primary. The third pump is a battery backup pump, turning on if the power in the home goes out. The TripleSafe pumps water out through a PVC discharge line, keeping the basement water free even if the rain is so hard it knocks the power out.
Next, on the outside of the home, we had two key products to install. Attached to the discharge line as soon as it leaves the side of the home, we installed an IceGuard pipe. This is a special pipe, built with holes. These holes allow for normal water flow, but in the event of a blockage in the lower pipe, they allow the water to escape. Finally, we installed a LawnScape exit point on the end of the discharge line. This is where the water exits the pipe a safe distance from the home.
Now that Ray has a proper pump in place, his basement will no longer flood with water! The TripleSafe pump will maintain a dry basement floor for many years to come.
