Lisbon Falls, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
A flooding basement makes it impossible to safely finish a basement. A new carpet would be liable to water damage, as well as any furniture placed in the basement. Finishing a basement was a pipe dream for John, until he contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
The water entering the basement was coming in through the concrete, and to stop it, we installed 85 feet of WaterGuard piping inside the basement floor. These pipes are specially designed to capture water while it travels through the concrete. The captured water is then guided to the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will remove all of the collected water through a PVC discharge line.
To allow the homeowner to finish their basement without any worries, we laid ThermalDry flooring tiles across the floor. These tiles are constructed to insulate against the cold concrete floor, while also lifting it off the floor in case any small amount of moisture might find its way on top of the concrete. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe to the discharge line. This special pipe piece allows water to exit through holes in the event of a blockage lower in the pipe.
With these new upgrades to their basement, John will have no problem finishing his basement. These products will work together and maintain a dry basement for many years to come!
