Winthrop, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
Rain water would regularly find its way into Homer’s basement. But once he found TC Hafford Basement Systems, he knew exactly how to stop it!
Solution
The rain water entering the basement would build up in the surrounding soil, and this pressure would force the water in through tiny cracks. To prevent the water from reaching the interior of the basement, we needed to install a barrier in the concrete to capture the water. This is where our WaterGaurd piping comes in handy, as it does just that! After laying the piping under the concrete floor, we covered it over with more cement to hide it without stopping it from functioning.
The water captured by the WaterGuard is guided to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump is capable of pushing 2,650 gallons of water out of the basement per hour. This should be more than enough to keep Homer’s basement nice and dry! Finally, we needed to install an IceGuard filter on the discharge line coming from the sump. This was added to the exterior of the home, and is designed in a way that will allow water to escape the pipe in the event of a blockage.
With these products properly installed and working together, moisture build up is now a thing of the past for this basement! Homer can rest assured his basement will no longer flood during rain.
