Oakland, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation.
Challenge
Suffering from a flooding basement was nothing new for a couple in Oakland. That is, until they decided to call TC Hafford Basement Systems to do something about it.
Solution
The water was leaking in directly through the concrete foundation. Luckily for thee homeowners, we have a way to capture water as it passes through the concrete. We installed 98 feet of WaterGuard piping around the inside perimeter of the basement floor, which was hidden underneath the floor. These pipes will capture the water and guide it to the sump before it even reaches the surface. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump to handle removing the water from the basement. Being able to move 2,650 gallons of water per hour, the SuperSump should be more than enough.
Next, to complete the system, we needed to make some additions to the exterior of the home. The SuperSump pumps the water out through a PVC discharge line. As soon as this line exits the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe to the line. This pipe is constructed with holes around it which don’t effect normal water flor. But in the event that ice, or other debris blocks the lower end of the line, the holes allow the water to escape and not overflow the pump. On the end of the line, we installed a LawnScape piece where the water exits into the soil a safe distance from the home.
Now this couple no longer experience a flooding basement, or even so much as a moist floor. Thanks to WaterGuard, all their moisture problems are a thing of the past!
