Hampden, ME - WaterGuard & CleanSpace Installation
Challenge
A flooding basement is a serious problem for some homeowners. For Tracey, this problem had leaked its way into her basement as well. That is, until she decided to do something about it!
Solution
The water coming into her basement was entering through small holes in her cement foundation. To stop this water in its tracks, we installed 128 feet of WaterGuard piping below the surface of the foundation, to capture the water while it moves through the concrete. This pipe catches the water and guides it to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. The SuperSump, capable of moving 2,650 gallons of water per hour, will keep the water out of Tracey’s basement.
Next, we needed to waterproof her crawlspace as well. The space had also been gaining moisture, and required a proper vapor barrier. To install one, we began by laying down a Drainage Matting around the inside perimeter of the crawlspace floor, along the wall/floor joint. Next, we encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace Liner, which is made of a thin plastic to completely lock out the moisture before it reaches the interior of the space. These two barriers working together will hold back moisture, and allow it to drain away back into the soil.
Now Tracey is no longer one of those people who suffers from a wet basement. Thanks to WaterGuard, those days are gone for good!
