Caribou ME - WaterGuard & BrightWall Installation
Challenge
Leaking walls causing a wet basement was a major issue for Rick. It was a problem until he called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
In order to prevent water damage to the foundation or to Rick’s belongings, we needed to waterproof the basement. Underneath the floor, we installed 42 feet of WaterGuard Pipes. These pipes are installed within the cement to capture the moisture as it travels through to the surface off the basement floor. The water caught by the WaterGuard is guided to the sump, where it exits the basement through a drain.
The walls of the basement were then treated by receiving a ShotLock coating. Making them smooth, and move resilient to water leakage. This will help hold back the water, but is not 100% waterproof. This is why we then installed BrightWall panels around the basement on top of the walls. These plastic panels will prevent any moisture coming through from reaching the air, guiding it down into the WaterGuard pipes to be evacuated from the basement.
Now even in the hardest of rains, any water trying to leak into Rick’s basement will be collected and removed before even reaching the air.
