Yarmouth, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
Tired of dealing with water flooding their basement, Toby thought it was time he did something to stop the flooding.
Solution
To begin the sealing of this basement, we laid 100 feet of WaterGuard piping around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This piping is buried underneath the cement to hide it without hindering functionality. These pipes are able to capture the water as it travels through the cement, which then travels naturally toward the sump for removal. The sump too received an upgrade, having a SuperSump sump pump installed. This pump, being able to move over two and a half thousand gallons of water per hour, would guarantee that no water saw the surface of this basement floor.
Next, we needed to work on the exterior of the home. The PVC discharge line coming from the sump needed a plan B for when the lower end of the pipe was blocked by ice or other debris. Otherwise, the pump would back up and flood. This is why we installed an IceGuard. This special pipe will allow water to flow from the sides of the pipe should a blockage occur. Finally, we installed the LawnScape, where the water coming from the basement is finally released back into the ground.
With his newly waterproofed basement, Toby can live without needing to take matters into his own hands for many years to come!
