Topsham, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
Fearing their basement would sustain water damage once they finished it, David & Judy put their plans on pause until their water troubles could be fixed. Needing a dry basement floor and a system to keep out water, these two homeowners contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
The homeowners needed a way to stop the water from reaching the surface of their concrete basement floor. To capture this water, we needed to install our WaterGuard piping system beneath the cement floor perimeter. This placement allows the WaterGuard to catch the moisture as it enters through the concrete. The water that is caught in these pipes is guided to the sump to be evacuated.
Next, to allow the sump to remove any water given to it by the WaterGuard, we installed a SuperSump sump pump with an UltraSump backup battery attached. This combination can move 2,650 gallons of water per hour, and without power can continue to pump up to 11,000 gallons of water before needing a charge. Finally, to complete our waterproofing installation, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This will dry out the air, and maintain a healthy atmosphere within the basement.
Now that Judy and David have a properly waterproofed basement, they can finish their basement. No water would be able to find its way to the basement floor to cause water damage, and thanks to SaniDry, not even mold could find a safe place to survive!
