Photo Album: Do I Really Need Gutters?

Gutters are necessary for protecting your home from a multitude of issues that could potentially damage not only the land around your home but the health of your foundation as well. Gutters protect your foundation by keeping water from pooling, leading to cracks and the weakening of the structural integrity of your foundation. Without gutters, your roof is susceptible to ice damage, and any landscaping around your home will be ruined.   This Windham, ME homeowner wanted to avoid these issues and protect their home and landscaping, so they called Gutter Shutter by TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Jeff Schuhmacher met the homeowner at their home, and together they designed a gutter system that met the needs of the homeowner and the home. As you can see in the photos, even though the Gutter Shutter system uses a 6-inch gutter compared to the standard 5-inch gutter, we are able to handle more water while still blending in with the home, keeping the original vision for the home’s exterior design intact.
