WaterGuard Saves Bridgewater, NH Basement From Water Damage
Challenge
A homeowner in Bridgewater, NH was worried their belongings they were storing in their basement might become damaged soon. Water had been somehow leaking into their basement, and they needed an end put to these leaks. Unable to stop the water on their own, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Upon arrival to the home, our installation crew got to work right away waterproofing this basement. The home was sitting on a concrete foundation, but concrete is not completely waterproof. To give this foundation a barrier against outside water, we began by digging out a trench around the perimeter of the floor. This trench allowed us to install WaterGuard piping within the floor, encircling the basement floor. This piping, buried under fresh cement, will capture any water now attempting to enter the space through the concrete.
The water trapped within the WaterGuard is guided through the piping to the sump, where it is passed to the SuperSump sump pump we installed. This pump will take in the water and force it up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The water follows this line away from the home where is it let out onto the ground where it drains away. The SuperSump itself is more than capable of keeping up with any storm that might try and flood this basement now. Capable of moving over 2,600 gallons of water every hour, being overpowered is very unlikely for the SuperSump.
With this new basement system in place, the problem bothering this homeowner are now a thing of the past. The WaterGuard will protect this basement from any water damage for many years to come!
