Acton, ME - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
Alyson was plagued by a wet basement. Her efforts to drain the basement had been getting tiring, so Alyson went to the professionals. She called TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we were on the job!
Solution
The basement would gather water during heavy rains through both the foundation, and a large crack in one wall. To stop the water from entering these points, we started by laying our WaterGuard system just underneath the concrete floor, surrounding the basement. These special pipes capture water as it tries to travel through the floor, preventing it from reaching the surface. We then covered the crack with FlexiSpan. This is a three-layer seal that completely locks moisture outside the crack.
We then moved onto the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump, with an UltraSump attachment. The SuperSump is capable of pumping up to 2,650 gallons of water per hours out of the basement, though not many storms would be able to rain hard enough to reach this limit. The UltraSump is a backup battery, giving the SuperSump a solid 11,000 gallon lifetime if the power in the home goes out.
These systems in place and working together will be more than enough to maintain a dry basement for Alyson. She now can sit back and relax during storms, without needing to worry at all!
