New Durham, NH - WaterGuard & SuperSump Installation
Challenge
Tom had been having problem with water leaking into his basement through the floor. Not knowing how to solve this on his own, he quickly contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to handle the problem!
Solution
The water entering through the floor was being pushed in via the hydrostatic pressure of the rain. When the water levels would get too high within the soil, the newly falling rain would then force the water in through tiny cracks or holes. To prevent this, we lined the floor with a WaterGuard piping system. These pipes are buried right under the floor to capture the water before it ever reaches the surface.
We then dug out a sump in the basement floor, the water would need a way out once taken in by the WaterGuard. Within this sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. The SuperSump is able to pump 2,650 gallons of water per hour from the basement. This will be more than enough force to keep any rainfall from flooding the basement in the future. The water is evacuated from the basement through a PVC discharge line. This carries the water a safe distance from the home before releasing it into the ground.
Now Tom will no longer experience a wet basement during heavy rains! Thanks to WaterGuard, his basement will remain dry for years to come!
