Bridgton, ME - WaterGuard & TripleSafe Installation
Challenge
A wet basement was nothing new for Bill. Rain water would regularly leak in through his foundation. Tired of dealing with this moisture, he did something about it!
Solution
The rain water was entering due to what is known as hydrostatic pressure. This is when there is enough water gathering on top of the soil, the water already in the soil is forced into the basement through tiny cracks in the foundation. To stop this, we installed 160 feet off WaterGuard piping around the inside perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard is buried underneath the floor, where it captures the water as it travels through the concrete. This water is then guided to the sump for removal.
We then installed a TripleSafe sump pump in the basement. The TripleSafe is composed of three separate pumps, each serving their own purpose. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water. The secondary pump remains inactive until the primary either fails, or is overwhelmed by water. It will then activate to handle the rest of the water. Finally, the third pump is a battery backup pump. This will only activate when there is no power in the home, allowing water to continue to be evacuated even if the rest of the pumps are off. We then attached an IceGuard to the PVC discharge line on the exterior of the home. This pipe allows water to exit the line if the lower end is blocked and backing up.
Now Bill can experience the bliss of a dry basement! Thanks to WaterGuard, water will never again gather on the surface of his basement floor.
