Kennebunk, ME - WaterGuard & TripleSafe Installation
Challenge
Even with a sump in their basement, Peter & Bette still had problems with water pooling up around their basement floor. They needed a way to gather the water before it reached the surface of the floor. TC Hafford Basement Systems has just the product for that!
Solution
To solve their problem, we laid our signature WaterGuard piping system down around the interior perimeter of their basement floor. Burying it under a few inches of rocks and cement to conceal it. This system of pipes would not capture any water seeping through the cement; Just as the homeowners wanted! Next, to give the captured water a way out of the basement, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump in the sump. This was hooked up to the WaterGuard pipes, allowing the caught water to drain out into the pump to be pushed up and out of the basement. This new TripleSafe would have no problem removing any amount of water given to it. It contains three separate pumps to get the job done. A primary pump for the bulk of the water. A secondary pump for when the primary can’t handle the load, or fails for any reason. Then finally, a battery-backup pump for when the power in the home goes out, but water still needs to be evacuated.
Finally, to deal with the moisture still present in the air, and to keep the basement mold-free, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This dehumidifier will take the moisture out of the air, and drain it into the TripleSafe to be removed. The dry air is then circulated through the basement so that the SaniDry can keep removing moisture in a cycle until all of the air has been dried.
Now with the proper systems in place, and a proper pump in their sump, Peter & Bette will no longer experience any moisture issues with their basement.
